FINAL REFLECTION

What was your favorite assignment?

I really enjoyed planning the learning mission

Which unit do you feel helped you grow the most?

At the beginning of the course I was asked a little, specially the procedure to design the activities, to hang them on the platform to be evaluated by my colleagues and to evaluate them at the same time. But it has been a really useful experience. I have learned a lot from my partners.

Which parts of the course were the most challenging?

The last one, the idea of preparing a project for working together is always a challenge.

How has participating in this course helped you become a better teacher and learner?

This course offers me to possibility to visit new blogs from my new partners. They are really hard-workers and I have learned a lot from them. Moreover, the different units I gave me many online tools to be used in my classes with my pupils. So the course have been really useful for me.

Thanks you Shelly and partners!!!!

REFLECTION FIFTH WEEK

What was your global collaboration project?

This project gives us the opportunity to compare our children to the difference in living conditions that exist in different parts of the world. Fables, poems, drawings, videos, songs, solidarity markets, food harvest to be donated to the poor will be the means that will lead us to discover the rights of the little ones.

What did planning a global collaboration project with a peer in this course teach you?

Working in a global collaboration project it's a good chance to exchange knowledge and culture. In this project we try to let our pupils to know about their classmates, about other children living habits in order to broaden their knowledge. The aim of the project is to make children aware of their rights to make them better citizens.

I am totally convinced that working together in a collaborative way is the best option for teaching and learning. It,s the best way to be open-minded for our demanding society.

 A collaborative Etwinning project

Activity title: THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN

Brief description of the collaborative activity: The "Children's Rights" project is born of the necessity of making the students aware of their rights, how they were born, who and why. This project gives us the opportunity to compare our children to the difference in living conditions that exist in different parts of the world. Fables, poems, drawings, videos, songs, solidarity markets, food harvest to be donated to the poor will be the means that will lead us to discover the rights of the little ones. Comparing with their fellow travelers the child's living habits will be a very interesting thing for them and will broaden their knowledge. The aim of the project is to make children aware of their rights to make them better citizens.

The week's challenges have been really challenging
What's in your teacher survival kit?
I have been able to verify from the answer of my companions that we have changed, in most cases, the books and the notebooks for the new technologies like the portable computer or the telephone. In addition, the new online applications allow us to share the material immediately and facilitate the collaboration and participation of both students and teachers. How will your teacher's survival kit help you better manage your classroom?
It is difficult to think about how each of us confronts our classes. However, I am convinced that all of us have enough resources to teach our students. We always have something to tell you, what to talk about, what example we can give you from our experience to work in a class. Not necessarily the subjects that we have in our curriculum.

How will creating a parent resource center help you engage parents so that students behave better online and in their class? It is difficult to involve parents in many activities. However, we are increasingly aware of the need for responsible use of the Internet and the risks of misuse for our students or children. This is an issue that worries them and for which they show a lot of interest.

My Teacher Survival Kit

Every teacher needs some items that we always carry with us like pens, paper, paper clips, staplers, etc... However, we need special teacher supply list to survive the school year to help us to get through situations that would have otherwise been embarrassing. My "standard" kit includes:

1.  My backpack which is actually more or less the same as the one on the picture I uploaded. It's durable, waterproof and has been a faithful companion in all my teaching adventures !

2.  My diary or agenda: I have a paperback, but you can also use a digital one where I keep my schedule, contact list of my students, notes, ideas,....

3.  My lesson plan: Never leave without a lesson plan. It doesn't have to be a detailed one, just know what you have to do with your classes!. Moreover, I usually prepare a Plan B or some extra activities and games with you in case you have extra time or if something goes wrong

4.  Paper, pens, pencils, highlighters and art supplies like cartons, clay, scissors for activities like murals, posters or paintings or for projects, crafts and lots of creative mess!

5.  Usborne activity cards & games: I always carry around the "50 things to do on a journey" pack as well as their "Puzzles" tin. Web tools & technology because I love tech-creating and seeing my students experiment with technology.

6.  A snack: something with carbohydrates to give you energy

7.    A big smile, patience, energy, creativity and a passion for teaching!
